What We Offer

At Start Bright, we provide comprehensive speech therapy and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services designed to support children in building communication, social, and functional skills. Our team uses evidence-based practices, individualized treatment plans, and a compassionate approach to help each child reach their full potential. We collaborate closely with families and other providers to ensure consistent progress across home, school, and community environments.

Services

ABA

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a research-based approach that helps children build essential skills by understanding how they learn and what motivates them. Therapists break skills into manageable steps and provide positive reinforcement to support meaningful progress. Each treatment plan is individualized, focusing on goals such as communication, social interaction, executive functioning, self-advocacy, problem-solving, and activities of daily living like dressing, eating, or completing routines. ABA also helps children reduce challenging behaviors.

Speech

Speech therapy for both children and adults improves communication and understanding of language. A speech-language pathologist focuses on skills like speaking clearly, expressing thoughts, understanding others, building vocabulary, and using language in social situations. Therapy also addresses challenges as stuttering, sound pronunciation difficulties, or language development.

AAC

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) can be a valuable tool for children with Autism or severe speech and language disorders. AAC gives children a way to express themselves when speaking is difficult, helping them share their needs, thoughts, and feelings more easily. Whether using picture symbols, communication boards, sign language, or speech-generating devices, AAC supports language development and encourages meaningful interaction with family, teachers, and peers.

Services

Feeding

Non-medical feeding therapy focuses on helping children develop positive and effective eating skills in a supportive and stress-free environment. This type of therapy is designed for children who may be picky eaters, have difficulty trying new foods, struggle with chewing or swallowing coordination, or experience anxiety around mealtimes. Through play-based activities, sensory exploration, and gradual exposure to new tastes and textures, therapists help children build confidence and comfort with food. The goal is not only to improve eating skills, but to create enjoyable mealtime experiences that support nutrition, independence, and growth for both the child and family.

IEP Support

Our staff is here to help families navigate the IEP process and work collaboratively with their child’s school. We can assist parents in understanding evaluations, attending meetings, reviewing goals and services, and advocating for supports that best meet their child’s needs. By guiding families through each step, we help ensure that the IEP reflects the child’s strengths and challenges, promotes meaningful progress, and provides the accommodations and services necessary for success in the classroom and beyond.
